Protection for frontline workers when treating Covid-19 patients
We have clinicians at the Glenfield ICU that have been testing these. We had these designed, prototyped, manufactured and delivered to frontline workers in less than 24hrs.
As a result, other than tested by those using them for a whole shift, they are not formally MDA approved. Those using have calculated on a risk/benefit basis as it’s providing a physical barrier which is what is needed. They are designed as single-use items.
Designed for those intubating or in close quarter intensive care environments or others where there’s a positive or suspected covid-19 patient, used in conjunction with an FFP3 mask in place as per the latest NHS guidelines.

We have visors in use across the country in multiple trusts and GP practices, including those in close contact with Covid-19 positive patients in respiratory and Intensive Care Units.
